The Farm Table
Let me introduce my dining room table!
I love this table!
I bought this table over 25 years ago at an antique store in Sulpher, Oklahoma.
When Dusty and I got married we moved our 1st home to the land we bought on 6 wheels. Well, it may of taken more than 6 wheels. It was a trailer house that Dusty and and his dad had bought at an auction one Saturday afternoon. They were so proud of their selves too because the back "master bedroom" had really big bold maroon flowers all over the wall paper. Well the sellers had left their bedspread on the bed for "staging". (I'm putting all those words in "quotes" because it's cracking me up that I'm typing "master bedroom" and "staging" when I'm talking about a trailer house!) Anyway, my husband to be and my future father-in-law negotiated that bedspread to be thrown in for the same selling price lol! So my "new" home came with a "new" bedspread. haha, I'm using those quote marks again! And yes, I'm using bedspread because that's what we called them in the 90's.
So needless to say a trailer house would not of fit my 9 1/2 foot table. But we didn't go shopping or buy that long farm table till we moved into our next home.
The day Macy was born, was the day we closed on the land we live on now. She was our first baby. We brought her home to our trailer house and was dreaming of day we could build something a little bit bigger out on our new land we had just bought.
We made a plan to build a barndominnium (that's what they call them now), there wasn't a name for them back in the 90's. But this barndominium was going to have room for a big farm table!
I found this table at an antique shop in Sulphur, Oklahoma at an antique store. It was super narrow. It had two pine planks that totaled about 18" wide. It served it's purpose but was just so narrow it was hard to serve off of.
So my grandpa Jim offered to take it home with him and add another plank of pine wood and refinish it and bring it back to me. I of course agreed!!!
So when I offer you a meal I prepared, served on my favorite Christmas dishes and seated at a table that was was revamped by my grandpa that has since passed on, just know you are special!
This table would be the perfect place for you to photograph your family seated around the table together.
A Christmas photo shot displaying your new favorite dishes you are selling.
Or a place you want to rent out for the day for your own Christmas party event!
